What it does
One utility for every remote site.
Most sites on 4G or 5G have no public IP, so normal remote access does not work. OwlAnywhere makes the equipment behind the mobile router reachable, safely.
Manage any device
Open the web console of an NVR, router, controller or PLC, or SSH into a server, as if you were on site.
Fix it without a site visit
Restart services, change settings and check logs remotely instead of sending someone out.
Know when a site drops
Email, Slack or Teams alerts when a site goes offline and again when it is back, on Intermediate and above.
Set up in three steps: 1. Plug it into the site's network. 2. It pairs itself with the relay and pins its identity. 3. Add the camera or device you want to reach, then Save & Apply.

Engineering inside
Built like infrastructure, not a gadget.
Whether remote access still works at 3 a.m. comes down to how it is built. Every plan includes all of this.
- Reconnects by itself. Link checked every 30 seconds, restarted within 10 seconds of a drop.
- Its own key. Each device signs in with its own ED25519 key; no relay password is stored.
- Knows its relay. The relay's identity is pinned, so impostors are refused.
- Off the public internet. By default, forwarded ports open only inside the relay.
- Sandboxed services. No privilege escalation and a read-only system.
- Fewer parts to fail. Four standard OS packages. No Docker, no database.
- Passwords stored properly. Salted PBKDF2-SHA256 with 210,000 iterations.

What IT teams ask first.
Can I watch RTSP camera streams through OwlAnywhere?
Yes. Add a rule for the camera's or NVR's RTSP port (usually 554) and open the stream in VLC, your NVR app or VMS using RTSP over TCP, which most cameras and players support. The stream travels inside the encrypted tunnel. RTSP over UDP is not carried.
How much 4G/5G data does it use?
The tunnel itself uses very little. Video uses whatever the stream sends: roughly 0.9 to 1.8 GB per hour for a 1080p stream at 2 to 4 Mbps, and far less on a camera's sub-stream. The site's mobile upload speed sets how many streams you can watch at once. See the data guide.
Do I need to change my router or firewall?
No inbound rules at all. The device makes one outbound SSH connection to the relay, on port 22 by default or another port if your network blocks 22.
How do I actually reach a machine at the site?
Each rule links a port on the relay to a machine and port on the site's network. Sign in to the relay over SSH, connect to that port, and you're talking to the machine: its shell, web page or management port.
What happens when the power or internet drops?
The tunnel starts at boot and reconnects by itself, retrying 10 seconds after any drop. On Intermediate and above you get an email when it goes down and again when it's back.
What if the relay itself goes down?
On Advanced and Enterprise the device checks the primary relay every minute. After three failed checks it moves to your backup relay, and it moves back after five healthy checks.
